Deborah Richardson Pilates in Henley and Reading

Deborah teaches Pilates at her studio in Sonning where she offers sessions on a 1:1 basis. Deborah's approach is holistic and unique. She combines her Pilates expertise with postural assessment derived from her knowledge of sports massage therapy. From this Deborah is able to devise programmes tailored to meet each client's individual need. These often include stiffness and tightness from every day living or wanting a more toned body including a flatter stomach to rehabilitation from sports injuries or operations.

Deborah is a fully qualified Pilates Teacher trained by Alan Herdman at his studios in Central London. Alan Herdman is a world renowned Pilates expert and holds the title of 'Master Teacher', only one of a handful of teachers in the world to achieve this status.

Deborah teaches Pilates using both mat work and equipment such as the Reformer and Cadillac. Pilates practised on equipment provides a more challenging exercise program. Once familiar with the basics provided by mat work, clients can progress to using the Pilates equipment where they find pleasing results are quickly achieved.

Deborah holds mat work classes in Woodley and Henley where she specialises in small groups so that clients receive individual attention.

Deborah is also a sport and remedial massage therapist and a graduate of the prestigious London School of Sports Massage with a BTEC Diploma in Sports and Remedial Massage. She is a qualified NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Practitioner. Where appropriate, she uses NLP to counsel patients to help them to relax, overcome any anxiety they may be experiencing and to help them achieve their goals.

As a former county hockey player, accomplished horsewomen and cricket player, Deborah has a strong appreciation of the physical demands for sports performance. This keen knowledge is fundamental to Deborah’s holistic approach to tailor programmes to an individual's needs.
